TANINAH VS. CONVENTIONAL OPTIONS

Taninah vs. a standard hotel
If you’ve had a chance to read our web site, see our photos, and read our guest reviews, then we don’t have to elaborate on the differences between Taninah and a standard hotel.

If four walls, a window, and an AC unit in a building housing hundreds if not thousands of people are your idea of ideal vacation accommodations, then Taninah is not for you.

Those looking for a typical hotel can keep on looking. There is nothing typical about Taninah and that’s exactly how we want it.

Taninah vs. a plastic resort
If your idea of a vacation is to stay in a sterile, homogenized, “plastic” resort indistinguishable from every other plastic resort in the world, then Taninah is not for you. Taninah is undeniably the most unique vacation rental property in the Riviera Maya. There is nothing plastic about Taninah.

At Taninah, you won’t be surrounded by pretentious resort installations, extravagant marble lined lobbies, or be confined to non-descript concrete rooms. You won’t be gouged every time you want a beer or a margarita or be surrounded by hundreds of tourists.

At Taninah, you will feel at home, relaxed, and comfortable surrounded by your family in an unparalleled atmosphere.

Taninah vs. an all-inclusive resort
All-inclusive resorts are designed to operate like cattle drives. They rely on volume, on mass tourism appeal based on their cheap packages. Make no mistake about it…all-inclusive resorts are operated frugally.

Generally speaking the food is not that great (although you can eat all you want) and the drinks are mixed with cheap liquor and are served in tiny glasses (but you can drink as many as your gut can handle.)

Their formula for success is based on getting you in and out as soon as possible so they can replace you and your family with the next group of incoming tourists. There is nothing personal or real about the feeling of an all-inclusive. Thus, the overall feeling is canned and usually has that terrible "cattle drive" feel.

Of course, if hanging out by the pool with a bunch of strangers while an "activity coordinator" is screaming through a bullhorn trying to get everyone up to do the limbo is your idea of a good time, then you might consider an all-inclusive.

Staying at Taninah vs. staying at an all-inclusive is like staying in your own home vs. staying at a hotel. It is like having a unique experience vs. having a contrived and artificial experience.

It is being in tune with the essence of a destination vs. being in a concrete hotel like any other hotel in any other part of the world.

At Taninah you will find personalized, tailored service vs. a mass market approach to hospitality as found in all-inclusive resorts. It is an adventurous opportunity and experience vs. a conventional, predictable, and homogenized resort stay!

Taninah vs. a beachfront property
We completely understand the draw of beach side accommodations. After all, you’ve come a long way to enjoy the Caribbean; however, be aware that most hotel rooms do not have an ocean view and are not located on the beachfront but rather staggered away from the beach. In effect, you are paying for a beach front property although your room is nowhere near the beach.

Taninah is located an eight minute car ride from one of the most spectacular beaches in the world. From Taninah, you can conveniently enjoy the beach as often and for as long as you like. Most of our guests visit the beach a couple of times during their stay, but more importantly, all of our guests express their happiness upon returning “home” to Taninah.

Taninah vs. a typical rental property
Unlike most vacation rental properties, Taninah is not just a rental home on a residential lot in a residential neighborhood. Taninah offers 5 guests houses on 5 manicured acres and 5 additional acres of natural jungle.

Instead of a being restricted to the interior of a rental home or to its front lawn or back yard pool, Taninah offers acres of lawns, installations, and amenities.

Instead of the feeling of being on top of each other, your family will be able to spread out as much as they like while still enjoying a family oriented ambiance.

Taninah is indeed more like a rental estate than a rental home. There simply is no comparison.

Taninah is not for everyone and that's exactly how we want it to be but if you are looking for a unique, exotic and exciting alternative you have found it.
