OUR TANINAH CHRISTMAS – 2003

We are leaving so we are all melancholy – as we savor our very last day
It has been such a unique experience – there are a few things we all want to say
First we had fun in Playa del Carmen – and that visit was pretty darn neat
But what we will reflect on for many years to come – is this most beautiful jungle retreat.

At first we had apprehension and worry – the road here was rough and seemed so long
We wondered had we made a mistake – could Jill’s decision to come here be wrong
But when we got here and saw the beauty – we were filled with both joy and relief
This place was different in every way – it is truly beyond all belief.

Thank you, Kathy and Mino and our Mayan friends – words simply won’t suffice
You have treated our family so special – sharing your wonderfully unique paradise
And as the years continue to pass – and we search for things to remember
Our family can look back to 2003 – and all the fun we had that December.

We biked, we swam, we ate and we laughed – there is so much here to do
There is something here for everyone – for we are age nine to seventy-two
The kids even did an obstacle course – Laney was third, Bri second and Alex first
But when Larry stumbled on that rope ladder – that was most absolutely the worst
And even MiMi did that course – and when she finished we all gave her a hug
She went around it looking so cute and impish – and she didn’t even lose her rug
We had unique and exotic Kim and Jill meals – and the scraps were cleaned up by Luna
And as we ate lobster, fish, guacamole and papaya – Reed has his usual can of tuna.

Kim and Jill said the toilets were wonderful – the cool breeze on their bottom felt swell
And just like Marino promised us – there was absolutely and positively no smell
And the Mayan men we loved – they did everything that needed to be done
They were kind and gentle and nice – and our affection they certainly have won.

Now we all thank our Jill and our Larry – their work and planning make us aware
That of all the things we have in life – nothing is as important as the love we share.

Kathy and Mino, when we go to the airport tomorrow – there will certainly be a few tears
But we will cherish so many beautiful memories – that will be rekindled over the years.
