Most guests find that they can use their phones with little to no problem. You will need to check with your carrier to be sure you have service in Mexico.
What is the charge per person to use your van service while we are staying at Taninah?
We don’t offer van service but rather suggest our guests rent at least one vehicle to facilitate getting around and in case of an emergency. We can also arrange for local transportation but this requires at least 24 hours notice and is not always available.

What are the roads like to the beach?
Our access road from the highway to Taninah is a dirt road built right on bedrock. It is a little rough early on from the highway but this is due more to rocky patches not pot holes. Every kind of car can travel our road. Those of us who are used to our access road don't think twice about it. After all, it is better than 90% of all roads in Mexico!
Could older kids travel to the beach unescorted on bicycles?
Technically yes. They would need to ride about 1.2 miles on our access road, get off the bikes, walk them across the highway (two lanes, no problem) and then ride them on a dirt road paralleling the highway for about half a mile before turning down the beach access for a couple hundred meters.
What is security like on the beach?
Personal security is not an issue; however, since there are no police beach patrols, it is not uncommon to lose unattended items to opportunistic PASSERSBY. Simple solution, don't leave items unattended, don't take unnecessary valuables to the beach, and lock the bikes.
Are there food and drink vendors on the beach?
Yes, there are a number of service providers on the beach including two or three restaurants, bars, shops, dive and snorkeling tours and charter fishing boat operators. We recommend dive and snorkeling adventures with the Riviera Maya’s most reputable dive shop, Scuba Mex.
Do you have beach umbrellas we can borrow or are they available at the beach?
We don't have any beach umbrellas but there is generally good shade under palm trees and one of the larger beach restaurants offers chairs, tables, chaise lounges and umbrellas. As long as you are eating and drinking at their facility, you can use these items for free.

No, you park right at the beach behind the restaurants and shops which are right on the beach.
Can you have beach fires?
No, beach fires are illegal; however, at Taninah our staff can prepare small bonfires at a couple of different locations depending upon wind conditions.
