Visit and get to know the most important Biosphere Reserve in Mexico “Sian Ka’an". Cross the unspoiled wetlands by boat, watching how the ecosystems change. Discover the animals and plants of the Mayan jungle, and finally enjoy snorkelling in an underground river.
You will be picked up at Taninah in a comfortable, air conditioned Club Wagon or Suburban.Upon your arrival to the Sian Ka’an reserve, a brief explanation about the biosphere reserve will be given by a professional, bilingual, biologist or naturalist. You’ll begin the boat trip through the wetlands of Muyil on your way to the Xlapak Temple in the middle of the wetlands. After exploring Xlapak you will be able to swim in fresh water channels. Your guide will be able to identify different types of vegetation, exotic birds and wildlife while on your excursion.
Returning to Muyil you´ll hike a Mayan trail in the jungle and visit an actual Mayan archaeological site. You’ll then depart by way of Cenote Escondido where snorkelling or swimming is a must! You will end your tour with lunch and soft drinks in a local restaurant before heading back to Taninah.
